As a native of Spain, I am no stranger to the beauty of the country’s breathtaking beaches. However, even as I find myself in Colorado, I find solace in the natural beauty of the this region. This painting captures the peaceful serenity of a lake, with the fish eye water expertly crafted using acrylic pouring techniques and the sky and boat are done in oils. Walking along the stone covered sea walk, lit by a large turn of the century metal sconce… we must be in the Mediterranean. This is from a small town south of where I grew up, in Rota Spain. A part of the series Seascapes. There is something about the hues of the ocean that keep us forever in awe. This collection takes place where sand meets sea and the water world within.

This is a strong composition Fish painting that uses an acrylic pour technique for the water and fins, and traditional oils for the fish bodies and face. A friend posted a picture and I loved the striking contrast, and composition. He gave me permission to paint it and I put my voice into the painting, using oils and pouring on this large piece.
One of the things I really liked is how there are different kinds of fish in this social shoal. It’s always better to go from darkness to light when you have friends to make the journey with. Upon closer inspection, there is a lot of metallic silver and gold that glimmer in different viewing angles.
