Shoal of Light
This is a strong composition Fish painting that uses an acrylic pour technique for the water and fins, and traditional oils for the fish bodies and face. A friend posted a picture and I loved the striking contrast, and composition. He gave me permission to paint it and I put my voice into the painting, using oils and pouring on this large 24×36 piece.
One of the things I really liked is how there are different kinds of fish in this social shoal. It’s always better to go from darkness to light when you have friends to make the journey with. Upon closer inspection, there is a lot of metallic silver and gold that glimmer in different viewing angles.
